Philippians Bible Study includes:
- 16 lessons, each covering a different topic and a small section of Scripture.
- Room to diagram the Bible passage, record the main points, or draw an image that helps you understand the passage better.
- Questions that will help you apply the Bible verses to something that is going on in your life right now. For example, if the lesson is on contentment, I’ll begin by asking you to list a few areas of your life that are making you discontent right now. You’ll then choose one of those areas to work on for the remainder of the lesson.
- A prayer suggestion specific to each lesson. I’m hoping you’ll visit with God as you go through the main body of practical application questions, but I’ll also offer a prayer suggestion at the end of the lesson.
- I’ll also ask you for your main takeaway at the end of each lesson. This is term we use in life coaching. It means, what was your biggest aha? Where did the Holy Spirit pour out truth and insight as you did the lesson?
- I’ll then give you a chance to list any action steps you’d like to take based on what you learned as you worked through the lesson.
Philippians Bible Study is suitable for individuals, one-on-ones, and group study. Each book contains a leader’s guide with suggestions for how to lead a group study, including how to adapt the study to a shorter time period, such as a six or eight week study. Because the study is made up mostly of thought-provoking questions with practical examples, it can be used for both young adults and older adults.
