Are you a Christian writer who struggles with finding your identity in Christ? Are you going through a trial that’s shaking your identity?

Are you a Christian writer who struggles with finding your identity in Christ? In this episode of the Christian Habits Podcast, we'll visit about how to find our identity in Christ, rather than in our writing.

In this episode of the Christian Habits Podcast, Matt Rial shares how his recent injury affected both his writing and his identity.

As we visit together about the experience and life in general as a writer, I hope you’ll be able to find some ideas to help with your own struggles with identity and trials that shake your identity.

Here are some of the resources we talked about on the show:

  • Matt’s blog: Wasteland Kings
  • Bible studies on some of the subjects we talked about on the blog
  • Wasteland Kings Facebook page.

    “Healing is messy”
That is so true. It’s hard to be patient, to rest and/or wait for the healing/change. We often think things should be easy. But we live in a fallen world and we are imperfect people. God uses trials to refine us and draw us closer to Him.
There are different seasons in life and God has a plan and purpose for all of those seasons even if we don’t like the season we are in. We may feel as if the season we are in is very productive but seeds are being planted. A harvest takes awhile to grow.
What helps me is to remind myself that my perspective is limited. Results are not always seen by us but they are seen by God. My focus must be Kingdom minded and I must leave the results and harvest in His hands. So not easy to do and I mess it up far too often. But His grace is enough. He likes working in my messes. It shows His glory even brighter!

Barb, I like what you said about your kids cooking. It took time and practice but it was worth it.

    Matt 6:33

Thanks for all those insights, TC. Love the harvest idea. It seems like forever when those seeds are in the ground and then such small plants but by the end of the summer it’s hard to keep up with all of the production! Each season has it’s purpose and benefit!
