Today I’m excited to have Kelly on the podcast with us for a coaching interview. Here are some of the topics we’ll be discussing:
- Some truths that will help with failure eating.
- When do we switch from enjoying food to making food an idol?
- The advantages of having small quantities of your favorite foods vs. large quantities.
- The pleasure of living a life in control and also feeling lean and healthy.
- The value of writing out the answers to the I Deserve a Donut questions so you can look back on your progress and also use it to renew later if you can’t make yourself answer the questions one day.
- A lie that makes us eat too much on special occasions such as date nights.
- Planned food rewards vs. unplanned food rewards.
- Entitlement eating and how it’s not really a treat if we regret it afterwards.
- Planning ahead before trips and truth journaling before you go.
- Suggestions for non-food rewards.
Resources We Talked About on the Podcast
I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk as my creamer and there are natural extracts that are wonder in coffee as well!! I use stevia instead of sugar.
I’ve always wanted to try the unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It sure sounds good! I might have to try that. I’ve actually never tried stevia, but heard it was a healthy substitute! Thanks for the almond milk idea, Marcie!
Wow. Talking to yourself like you would a friend… that’s wisdom there.
Three bites reminds me of the owl on the old Tootsie Pop c commercial; he was supposed to answer the question of how many licks it took to finish a Tootsie Pop, and he lick once, twice, and chewed on it on “three”. I digress!
Diet Dr. Pepper is one of my favorite treats too!
That bike is a big key I think. For more than one reason.
Regardless of the issue, we all have them. Good advice and encouragement.
Haha that’s so funny about the owl on the Tootsie Pop commercial. I can just picture it. :) I actually love diet Dr. Pepper as well and also diet Dr. Coke. It just seems like I never remember to buy one!
Loved the interview! Kelly had good questions and the Q and A format worked well. It is so encouraging to listen to these interviews. The vanilla creamer is something I need to surrender. I liked your suggestion about reading the ingredients-very yucky! Thanks, Barb!!
I’m glad you enjoyed the interview, Virginia! Hope the reading-the-ingredients plan works with the vanilla creamer!
