I loved this podcast with Shelly!
I have been struggling with this on-again off-again relationship with food, weightloss, diet mentality for decades and I can’t seem to shake this. But listening to Shelly, I feel confident to give it another try. Through her journey of struggles and victories, she has given me encouragement to not give up. It is time, once again, to turn to the Lord and complete your daily lessons, Barb; to speak scriptures aloud; to put Satan in his place; and to give truth journaling a go.
My hope is to: Be rid of this food idol; stop binge eating; no longer have this on-again, off-again relationship with food, weight, diet mentality; lose weight (40 pounds); feel confident; improve my health; and through it all, a closer relationship with the Lord.

Those sound like great goals, Teresa, I’m praying God will help you achieve them! I’m so glad Shelly helped you gain confidence and hope and a renewed commitment to give it another go. I know how hard it is but I also know God is able! Praying He will bless your time with Him and give you victory in this area of your life! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

Teresa, you can do this!! Yes, it’s hard work, but oh how sweet the victory! No matter how long it takes it is worth it. I never thought I would be free from the control of food, but with the power of God I am! You have to change your mind about how you think of food. We see it as our go-to for comfort. That’s a LIE! It only makes us more miserable. God is our comfort! Do your lessons in Barb’s Bible studies, truth journal, put up powerful scriptures everywhere, Don’t beat yourself up when you experience a setback, just get right back on that horse. You CAN do this! Tell Satan out loud that God within you is more powerful than he is! Oh, precious soul, God wants to give you victory in this! You can do it!
